grumpy's candy company

Grumpy's started in 1981 as a small Texas candy maker with a few copper kettles and a short list of recipes. Four decades later we are still in Baird, still family owned, and still cooking candy in batches small enough to watch.

What changed is who we make it for. Alongside our own candy line, we manufacture for brands, retailers and organizations across the country under their labels and their names.

Lollipops and lollipop swirls, hard candy, acid drops, butterscotch, caramels, cough drops, lozenges, mints, taffy and toffee. Some of it carries our name, most of it carries someone else's.

Whatever the label says, it is made by the same crew on the same line in the same building.
